The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) provides funding to eligible people (within the age group of 9 and 65) living with mobility or other restrictions (commonly referred to as NDIS participants). The plans are also aimed to provide assistance to participants so that they gain greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and lead an improved quality of life. The NDIS also connects participants to serve their community. This involves putting people in touch with physicians, local organisations, sports teams, support groups, libraries, and educational institutions in addition to giving information on the services offered by state and local governments.
